Fort Worth Alliance Air Show By Alliance Air Show on 7/29/2008 2:11 PM

One of the exhibitors in this year's air show was featured in a page one story in the Wall Street Journal. The article says visitors to the 19,500 square-foot exhibit experience riding in a Humvee or a Blackhawk helicopter while using fake firearms to hunt down enemies.

"Players file into an air-conditioned trailer, filled with computers and Xbox 360 consoles, where they wait to be briefed. Then Staff Sgt. John Harper explains the mission: Genocidal indigenous forces are attacking international aid workers. It's up to the players to protect them.

Jonas Brothers, Miranda Lambert ???
Fort Worth Alliance Air Show By Alliance Air Show on 7/24/2008 1:07 PM

Who would you like to see take the celebrity flight with the USAF Thunderbirds prior to the air show?

Preferably the person should have Texas ties. Thunderbirds rules require that the person be under age 55, under 220 lbs. and under 6-5.

Miranda Lambert may be a good fit since she's from Lindale, Texas. The Jonas Brothers just moved to Westlake, Texas, which is part of the AllianceTexas development that also includes the airport where the show is held.

Last-Minute Performer
Fort Worth Alliance Air Show By Alliance Air Show on 7/23/2008 2:17 PM

A Northwest Airlines 757 had to make an emergency landing at Dayton International Airport last Sunday during their annual air show. The plane was enroute from Tampa to Detroit when a computer for one of its engines failed. The crowd applauded as the plane landed safely.

At the Alliance Air Show, the landings and takeoffs of 2-3 FedEx planes on their regular Saturday routes are scheduled into the air show performance schedule and many in the crowd may believe they're part of the air show, but noone can recall an emergency landing as part of the show.
